The Answer to Solve the World’s Problems:
Earth Homes - 10 months ago - admin
What Is Missing In This World Today? Politicians failing to deliver promises for change? We get the same old. No matter how much puff they put into speeches.
Is Obama capable of delivering a package that will cure the world’s problems? Not if he doesn’t know HOW to fix what is ailing economies. The problem with the banks goes deeper than has been stated. The root cause has not been identified by governments, advisors or economists. And until it is, the recession will get worse.
So, what is the root cause, and how can we ensure a stable global economy? The answer is quite simple. We need something new that works from the bottom up - that solves many basic problems, that is easy to implement and low cost. We don’t want to add to financial burdens now, do we?
Let me explain it this way: At the moment our economies are car based. We have gained wealth from oil - the many by-products. But that has not created wealth for everybody - at least half of the world’s population is homeless and hungry - the cost of welfare programmes is tremendous, causing a burden to tax-payers. We also know oil production - cars that emit toxic gases, are not sustainable - that we are rapidly running out of time to find viable alternatives.
Supposing there was a design that fitted the bill - it would do the job - update travel, not cost the earth - causing no pollution, and perform better than cars? No need to carry fuel, or buy fuel.
You’d get excited - but then you’d argue governments wouldn’t be able to collect taxes via the pumps, so it wouldn’t work.
That, my friends, is muddled thinking. The design is perfectly viable. And governments can raise taxes elsewhere - maybe not so much money, but then less money will be needed to be raised via taxes. Yes, citizens would pay less tax.
What else could this design do? Well, it has an energy system for propulsion… and that energy system could be widely used to power homes, businesses… all for FREE.
The design itself is pretty versatile too. A car consists basically of a casing /shell… a housing i.e. molded shaped pieces of aluminium that are joined together. Alter the specification for that and what do we have? A caravan? A motor-home? No. You have affordable prefabricated MODERN modular housing, capable of accommodating all the people who are in need of somewhere decent to live. Let’s think about this - we have car factories closing… when they should be manufacturing this new-style!
What’s another great way to use these? Ah yes! Emergency shelters for victims of severe weather EG. flooding. Instead of bussing folk to stadiums using armed guards - give them one of these so they’ll be SAFE and supplied with all the BASIC ESSENTIALS to ensure their survival.
Another great use = Helping teenagers who need to learn and achieve independent living. With one of these they’ll be better protected and equipped - they’ll avoid the drink, drug and crime… scenes.
Other uses include affordable new nursery facilities, schools, clinics, hospitals… By not opting for traditional heavy building materials, tax-payer’s money wont be misspent on inappropriate-got-the-times-we-live-in infrastructure projects - the huge savings will all help to provide FREE services to improve the quality of life for citizens.
This is a radical plan - it gets to grip with the fundamentals - it offers a peaceful way forward without social unrest, it will satisfy everybody - but most importantly, it will sustain all those who practical need help quickly.
Can the world afford more empty promises?

Window Washer
For crystal clear window washer, Mix a tablespoon of cornstarch in a bucket of water, and wipe the solution onto the glass with paper towels. Rinse with clean water. Great for car or house windows.
BABY WIPES
Since heading the market in the 80’s, these moistened disposable baby wipes proved to be great in and outside the home. From cleaning your hands after changing oil or a tire, clean tools, rub marks off your walls, many, many uses including shining your shoes, wipe with baby wipe and buff with a soft, dry cloth.
To freshen up a smelly drain, just pour a cup of Baking Soda into it, and flush with hot water.
Blocked Drains?
Instead of using caustic products (be green and save money) for clearing blocked drains, throw a cup of baking soda down the drain followed by a few jugs of water.
FOOD INFORMATION
USE FOOD THERMOMETER
Don’t rely on looks alone. Bacteria can spread during ground meat. Always use a food thermometer and cook at 160 degrees Fahrenheit when cooking your hamburgers.
Salmonella Typhimurium Outbreak
Clearly, what began as an investigation of bulk peanut butter shipped to nursing homes and institutional cafeterias is now much broader.
It includes not just peanut butter, but baked goods and other products containing peanuts that are sold directly to consumers. Health officials say as many as one-third of those who got sick did not recall eating peanut butter.
“The focus is on peanut butter and a wide array of products that might have peanut butter in them,” said Dr. Robert Tauxe, director of the food borne illness division at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
“We urge consumers to postpone eating any products that may contain peanut butter until additional information becomes available,” Dr. Stephen Sundlof of the Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Food Safety said in a teleconference with reporters.
More than 125 products have been recalled in an investigation into a deadly salmonella outbreak linked to peanut butter used in processed foods and in institutions, with dog biscuits and granola bars among the latest on a list that is growing.
The outbreak of salmonella illness, which began in late summer and is ongoing, has been linked to eight deaths, including two in Virginia. In all, about 500 people in 43 states and Canada have become ill. About 22 percent were hospitalized, and about half of those affected are children.
Health officials said they would work with companies supplied by Peanut Corporation of America to continually update a recall list that is available on the FDA’s Web site. The Web site details a long list of popular products that are affected, including candies, cookies, snack bars and snack mixes

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency announced a recall yesterday of nine varieties of snack bars amid fears they may be contaminated with tainted peanut butter or peanut paste.
The affected products include snack bars from popular brands Clif, Larabar, Nature’s Path Organic and Hebert’s Fully Loaded.
Canadian officials warn more products may be pulled off shelves as they continue their investigation and identify other companies that may have used the contaminated spreads.
“With the size of this recall, in terms of volume of peanut butter, we may certainly expect more recalls in this country,” said Garfield Balsom, food safety and recall specialist at the CFIA. “We will certainly be notifying the consumers.”
Eight deaths are linked to the outbreak. However, CDC spokesman David Daigle, said salmonella outbreaks usually affect old people more than the young.
Salmonella causes diarrheic, vomiting and fever. While it usually clears up without treatment, it can kill the old, very young and patients with other serious illnesses.

There are just as many ways of making coffee, as there are different brands. Here are some general rules.
For good results measure water and coffee.
2 tablespoons coffee to each 1 cup
Make coffee just before serving
Make coffee double strength and pour the hot coffee over ice in a tall glass. As the ice melts, it will dilute the coffee. Top the glass with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

The Music of Many Lands
Earth Homes - 11 months ago - admin
IT HAS often been said that music is an international language. Proof of this is the folk music of the world. Enjoyment of it is not confined to the land of its origin. People can and often do enjoy hearing the music of lands other than their own. Getting acquainted with the music of other lands can be a delightful experience.
If you were to travel to every section of our earth you would find that each nation or group of people has its own characteristic songs and dances. Each one has contributed its own “accent” to the “language” of music. And this “accent” is generally so distinctive that a person can identify the land in which a certain song or dance originated, in much the same way that he can tell a foreigner’s nationality by his accent.
Most folk music was not composed by professional composers. Some of it has existed for thousands of years. In early times tunes were made up by musically inclined persons and these were handed down from generation to generation. The words of songs dealt with love, peace, war, drinking, fictional characters and amusing incidents. And people danced to the tunes, each group developing its own style.
So when people got together on social occasions in village marketplaces, in homes or around campfires, they sang and danced to music that had been handed down from their forefathers. Of course, the topography and climate of their land as well as their history, language, customs and temperament helped to mold their songs and dances. And these are the things that give each group’s folk music that peculiar “accent” that identifies it as belonging to them.
The Music of Europe
Much of the greatest music of the Western world was produced in Europe. From the seventeenth century onward a number of outstanding musical composers wrote a great quantity of music both for instruments and the voice. Their orchestral music called for many stringed instruments, as well as the wind and percussion types. Their beautiful concertos featured a solo instrument with an orchestra for accompaniment. And there were moving works that called for a large chorus of voices along with an orchestra.
Europe is known for its operas. As the play is acted out on a stage, with sets and costumes, the presentation is made more moving because the words are usually sung rather than spoken. An orchestra accompanying the singers adds dramatic effect. Operettas, like operas, have plots, but they are lighter and the music is gay.
Oratorios began in this part of the world. These compositions usually deal with Bible history. No stage props and costumes are used. Soloists sing the various parts, and a chorus and orchestra are employed. G. F. Handel wrote great Biblical oratorios dealing with Joseph and his brothers, Israel’s deliverance from Egypt, Joshua, Deborah, Jephthah, Samson, Saul, Solomon, Athaliah, Belshazzar and the fall of Babylon, Esther and the Messiah. In many of these thrilling masterpieces the divine name Jehovah appears.
At times these composers dug into the treasury of European folk music. They would either use a folk tune outright or would compose a melody having the distinctive characteristics of a nation’s folk music. At the beginning of their composition they often indicated that it was in the style of the music of a certain land.
As for the folk music of Europe, the most distinctive is that of Spain. The Moorish occupation of this land from the eighth to the fifteenth century C.E., as well as Gypsies, left their imprint on Spain’s music. Perhaps no other people have as many different kinds of dances as do the Spanish, yet that Spanish “accent” of vitality is evident in all of them. Adding to this “accent” are the instruments used by their folk musicians, namely, the guitar, the tambourine and the castanets with their clacking sound.
The Western music of Europe might be said to find a basic representative in the German. It stresses the bright-sounding major scale and is rich in harmony. Italian music is generally more melodious than is German, and is much lighter. The folk music of the French is also very melodious; however, the emphasis in their music is usually more on rhythm.
The Oriental flavor in European music is especially apparent in that of Russia. This could well be due to the Mongols who overran that country in the thirteenth century. Also, the deprivation of the people under the despotic czars no doubt helped to give Russian music its minor, sad strain. Further, the long, bleak winters there contributed to this melancholy “accent.”
Scandinavian music might be said to lie somewhere between that of the Germans and that of the Russians. Finnish music seems to have an Oriental tinge about it. However, many folk tunes of Denmark and Holland are quite similar to German folk music. Polish folk music shows both Russian and French influences.
Today it is usually the Europeans living in the country who do not merely listen but sing and dance their folk music. Those living in the cities are more inclined to go to concert halls and to listen to music on the radio.
That Latin-American “Accent”
Latin-American music is a combination of Spanish, African and, depending on the country, native Indian music. In this music the African influence is especially noticeable in the greater use of drums, the strong stress on rhythm and on variety in rhythm. Examples of these characteristics are found in such dances as the conga, the rumba, the samba and the beguine. In these dances, as well as others, the rhythm is sharply defined, being highlighted by drums and other percussive instruments. It is this quality that makes this music so catchy and moves one to want to dance to it.
Among Latin Americans there are many who like to have music all the time—and loud. So it is not unusual for them to have music on the radio all day long and frequently far into the night, with the volume turned up full blast. Cafés with jukeboxes and shops with radios add to the sound that can be heard by a good part of the neighborhood. At social affairs a band may be hired, or a phonograph turned up to full volume may provide the music. Of course, preferences vary. In some sections, people will pick up a guitar or accordion and provide their own music, singing or dancing together.

Dinner Blessings
The housewife invited 2 couple and their children for dinner one night. As they get ready to eat, the housewife asks her son, “Would you like to say blessings”?
“I don’t know what to say”, the boy replies. “Just say what you hear what your mother says”, replied the mother.
The boy bowed his head and said, “Lord, why on earth did I invite two 2 couples and their kids for dinner”?

ICED COFFEE
There are just as many ways of making coffee, as there are different brands. Here are some general rules.
For good results measure water and coffee.
2 tablespoons coffee to each 1 cup
Make coffee just before serving
Make coffee double strength and pour the hot coffee over ice in a tall glass. As the ice melts, it will dilute the coffee. Top the glass with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

The Answer to Solve the World’s Problems:
Earth Homes - 11 months ago - admin

Good luck everybody.
